Stipple engraving

Stipple engraving is a direct engraving technique that does not require the use of acids.
A stippling tool is used to beat the metal plate so as to create a series of dots that compose the desired figure.
Stippling creates metallic filaments, similar to those in drypoint, which can either be left or eliminated by means of a burnisher changing the effect to be obtained.
